Insanity or Golf by Tamela Roush
Sometimes I wonder why he loves this game
He plays it so much that folks think he's insane
Off the first tee with the flag as his goal
And straight in the fairway that little ball goes
It comes to a stop yet two-hundred yards short
But that is the reason why he loves this sport
Will he use a fairway wood or a long iron
Will it come out hot - or will it retire
The choice that he makes puts it on the green
Now that was the greatest shot he'd ever seen
One putt then two - it finally goes through
That one he birdie'd now its off to hole two
That first hole determined the rest of his day
Now let's swing those clubs seventeen more holes to play
He certainly had fun there were some quirky shots
But nine times out of ten that ball rested on the spot
He continues the game using every club in his bag
Concentrating on his swings with goal as the flag
Now into the clubhouse he walkes with a grin
He gives them more money, let the second game begin
And that is the reason folks think he's insane
Eighteen holes wasn't enough and its starting to rain
